Dr Dalvir Singh Bajwa is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist with a specialist interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery. He currently works within a high-volume tertiary dermatology service and is undertaking advanced fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, with extensive experience in complex facial reconstruction including flaps and grafts.
Originally entering medicine as a mature student, Dalvir’s path has been anything but conventional. Before medical school he spent time as a monk in a Sikh temple in both the UK and the United States, later working in business and property before pursuing his long-held ambition to study medicine. He graduated via the Foundation Programme at Durham University before completing medical training at Newcastle University, subsequently undertaking Academic Clinical Fellowship training with NIHR support.
His academic interests focus on keratinocyte skin cancer, particularly cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, and he has been awarded pre-doctoral funding from Cancer Research UK. He has received multiple national prizes from the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society for Dermatological Surgery, and has served as an Associate Editor for *Skin Health and Disease*.
Alongside his NHS work, Dalvir maintains interests in medical education, leadership, and research, holding postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Research and Health Professions Education. He is passionate about delivering meticulous, patient-centred surgical care while combining academic rigour with real-world experience drawn from a diverse professional journey.
