Dr Chun-Man Lee is a GMC-Certified Board Accredited Consultant Dermatologist based in Surrey. He is currently LEAD CLINICIAN in Cutaneous Allergy and Inflammatory Diseases for adults and children, as well as CLINICAL RESEARCH LEAD for Dermatology at Frimley Park Hospital within the SouthEast Thames Regional Network. His lead role in Patch Testing and cutaneous allergy, and special interests in the treatment of Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis have put him in good stead in offering high standards of care to Paediatric and Adult patients.

Dr Lee was graduated in London (Barts and the London School of Medicine) in 2006. Following retirement from a tenure of primary healthcare and occupational medicine in British Army he completed training in General Internal Medicine, was hired in acute medicine on locum secondment in a number of NHS hospitals before settling in a career pursuit in Dermatology.

Dr Lee has published numerous well-cited articles in Cosmetic Dermatology, Therapeutics and Science of Skin Ageing following attainment of MSc PG degree in Aesthetic Medicine and Skin Ageing at University of Manchester in 2018, with Merit. He has been a speakers’ trainer and lead-clinician in a UK multicentred Healthcare Resource Utilisation HRCU Project and GIRFT lead in Management of Chronic Plaque Psoriasis at Frimley Health (NHS), in pursuit of Get it Right the First time GIRFT and survival of the NHS.

Dr Chun-Man Lee is a Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Research Lead at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, based at Frimley Park Hospital. His clinical interests include cutaneous allergy, paediatric dermatology, inflammatory skin diseases, and biologic therapy.

Dr Lee is actively involved in clinical research and has contributed to several studies and publications in the field of dermatology. His work aims to bridge the gap between clinical practice and research, ensuring evidence-based care is integrated into everyday NHS dermatology services.

Dr Lee is an advocate for strengthening the role of research within the NHS:

“Research does not currently have the profile it deserves. As Clinical Research Lead I am keen to affect culture change and support embedding research within business as usual. Consultant Research Leads support and make more informed choices when allocating research activity, amidst capacity constraints faced by Frimley Health NHS R&I.”

His academic role within the NHS is structured yet manageable. Activities typically include:

  • Reviewing expressions of interest for research studies and supporting their prioritisation
  • Acting as an advocate for research within the dermatology department and encouraging trainee involvement
  • Representing dermatology at twice-yearly research steering group meetings.
